Fans of OG Nike releases are feasting this year. Between the return of the Air Trainer 1 “Shima Shima” and the Air Jordan 1 High OG “Chicago,” there’s all sorts of heat set to hit shelves once again. Another anticipated re-release for 2022 is the Air Max 1 “Crepe Hemp.” Originally released in 2004, the colorway was teased this year and has now been officially revealed by Nike in celebration of the 35th anniversary of the Air Max line’s debut silhouette.

The classic look is revisited with minor adjustments to its color scheme. Listed as “Medium Brown/Mint Foam-Mushroom-Muslin,” this “Crepe Hemp” recreation utilizes a darker brown at the suede mudguard but still offers the familiar mint blue Swooshes. However, these minty accents continue at the tongue, Air unit and heel branding, unlike the original pair. Various shades of brown continue at the upper which is constructed of leather and hemp burlap fabric. Lastly, a signature crepe rubber outsole in a gum color completes this remake.

While a release date for the Nike Air Max 1 “Crepe Hemp” has not yet been set, expect Nike and select retailers to carry the pair at a price of $180 USD.

In other footwear news, an official look at the two AMBUSH x Nike Air Adjust Force colorways has been shared.
