Tokyo-based brand Lad Musician has unveiled its latest collection for the Fall/Winter 2022 season. Just like previous offerings, the brand seldom shys away from cerebral creativity.

This time around, the collection revels in instability due to it being inspired by Jacques Derrida’s concept of deconstruction and difference. Alongside the French philosopher’s idea, the brand centers Kurt Cobain’s words “I was different,” nihilist lyrics from Moby’s “Mistake” and always opting for deconstruction over stagnancy.

Bringing these themes to fruition is an array of pieces like wide-shouldered single and double-breasted jackets, modern suiting, Chester coats with flared hems, oversized reversible jackets, knitwear, oversized pants, hybrid cargo pants, shirts and more. In its varied pieces, the brand also infuses subtle notes of military styles that appear in shades of acid green, army gray, yellow-green, navy and blood red. Alongside these shades, select garments incorporate nature, floral, multicolored argyle and abstract prints.

Suiting serves as a collection highlight with oversized shoulders and varied button-closures paired with flared pants that are inspired by Swedish military pants. Elsewhere in the collection are accessories like leather pouches, backpacks, tote bags and hats.

Take a look at the collection in the gallery above that is expected to drop soon online at Lad Musician.
