While adidas Originals continues to lean on trendy new looks and iconic silhouettes such as the Superstar and Stan Smith, adidas’ performance division has kept a steady eye on the future of footwear. This has resulted in classics like the UltraBOOST which grew into an entire family of styles. In recent years, the Three Stripes has pushed for its proprietary 4D technology to shine as the go-to for midsoles. Utilizing data driven 3D printed designs, 4D has played a key role in adidas’ current running-oriented offerings.

Combining the shape of an UltraBOOST upper with the 4DFWD, adidas has created the Ultra 4DFWD. Found in “Triple Black,” the model emphasizes its shape and features with its all-black presentation. The upper is made of adidas’ form-fitting Primeknit that is at least 50% Parley Ocean Plastic, while the remainder of the yarn is recycled polyester. A 4D midsole provides ample cushioning while a Continental rubber outsole ensures durability.

The adidas Ultra 4DFWD “Triple Black” is available now via adidas and select retailers at a price of $220 USD.

In case you missed it, adidas is celebrating Stan Smith’s Wimbledon win in 1972 with a “Stanniversary” colorway of his signature model.
