Following the launch of its Sovereign Syrup Sorghum, Bronx-based culinary collective, Ghetto Gastro, has now teamed up with Sichuan Chili Sauce experts, Fly By Jing, for a better-for-you and good-on-everything syrup. Made to spice up every meal, “Spicy Sovereign Syrup” blends Fly By Jing’s Sichuan Chili Crisp with Ghetto Gastro’s custom blend abolitionist alternative to cane sugar. The duo comes together to push flavor forward, with their descendant roots always in mind.
Spicy Sovereign Syrup is sweetened with dark maple syrup, harvested with sustainable and organic methods in collaboration with New York local forestry initiatives. The deep sweet flavor with nutritional richness is accented by the spicy tingle of erjingtiao chilis and tribute peppers. Working directly with producers, Ghetto Gastro and Fly By Jing’s sweet-and-spicy syrup was created with the intention of inspiring a free, direct supply chain.
