HANON and Karhu Ready Highland Games-Inspired Collaboration
Realised through the Finnish label’s Legacy 96.

Aberdeen-based retailer HANON has teamed up with Finnish sneaker aficionado Karhu to celebrate the Highland Games, an annual Scottish and Celtic event that dates back hundreds of years, which is also widely considered to be the inspiration behind the modern Olympics.
Drawing on this tradition, the duo now introduce a collaborative take on Karhu’s Legacy 96 silhouette, which arrives dressed in the rich color spectrum associated with highland dress and the great outdoors.
The sneaker itself has an upper composed of rugged suede and mesh, as luxurious pony hair detail appears throughout as a salute to the kilt sporran. Accents of purple are highlighted whilst dual branding is then found, debossed on opposing heels and executed as a heraldry lockup on woven tongue labels. Tartan adorns the footbed and is mirrored on a custom-made box, which arrives with interchangeable tongues and three lace sets.
The HANON x Karhu Legacy 96 “Highland Games” pack is set to drop on May 6 via the Karhu and HANON webstores.
