There’s no mid-month melancholy in the sneaker space this week as the world’s biggest brands have a generous serving of drops to unload to the public. These arrivals include new styles from the likes of Nike, Jordan Brand, Kanye West and adidas and more, but before we get into this week’s finest drops let’s take a primer on what went down last week.

The latest installment of Sole Mates welcomed self-taught creative and maker Kevin Concepts as a guest where he riffed on his creative journey and affinity for the Air Jordan 4. As per usual, there was plenty of news that trickled out on behalf of Jordan Brand. We captured an official look at the now postponed A Ma Maniére x Air Jordan 2 “Airness” colorway, Crenshaw Skate Club’s Tobey McIntosh’s Air Jordan 36 PE as well as CLOT’s Air Jordan 5 Low which made it in this week’s list of Best Weekly Footwear Drops. Nike generated a hearty amount of buzz last week as well as it officially unveiled its upcoming Spark Flyknit and Air Max Flyknit Racer modes as well as teamed up with atmos to create a fun Hello Kitty x Nike Air Presto lookbook.

From the adidas side, we captured a look at a new batch of M&M’s x adidas Forum Lows, Jamal Smith’s adidas Skateboarding Adimatic collaboration and an in-hand look at Kanye West’s adidas YEEZY 500 “Granite.” Reebok also made their presence felt as it announced new collaborations with EAMES and Maison Margiela, and Salehe Bembury finally announced the next batch of Crocs Pollex Clogs.

Now that you’re all caught up with the latest in kicks, enjoy a round up of this week’s best drops here below. And when you’re all done there, don’t forget to browse through the HBX store to find more footwear styles.

Naruto x Jordan Zion 1 SP “Kyuubi”

Release Date: May 11
Release Price: $130 USD
Where to Buy: Nike
Why You Should Cop: Despite the fact that Zion Willamson never saw any playing time this year due to injury, he’s stayed connected with his fans through his product launches with Jordan Brand. And before he enters into the second chapter of his signature shoe line, he’s making room for a major collaboration alongside Naruto to generate a Jordan Zion 1 SP “Kyuubi” team-up. This pair is inspired by the Nine-Tailed Chakra Mode with the Six Paths Sage Mode and is representative of Naruto and Zion having control over their untamed forces.

Nike Dunk Low “Team Red”

Release Date: May 12
Release Price: $100 USD
Where to Buy: SNKRS
Why You Should Cop: Dunks continue to spew out of the Nike factories like there’s no tomorrow, and this week we’ve got another two-toned iteration on deck. Up next for the popular silhouettes is the “Team Red/White” colorway which features a maroon-like tint across the overlays, Swooshes and laces while angelic finishes balance the upper out along the toe boxes, quarters and collars.

A-COLD-WALL* x Converse Aeon Active CX “Black/Apple Green”

Release Date: May 12
Release Price: $160 USD
Where to Buy: Converse
Why You Should Cop: A-COLD-WALL* has a knack for applying its tech-focused design language to various sneaker imprints. After going on a streak with Dr. Martens, Samuel Ross and his brand have reunited with Converse to roll out a chunky, tech-heavy Aeon Active CX model, and next up on their agenda is this stealthy “Black/Apple Green” colorway. The laceless sneakers are prepared with seasonal codes that are laid down onthe lateral, and hefty Crater foam midsoles that translate the aesthetic of concrete.

JJJJound x New Balance 990v3 “Brown/Black”

Release Date: May 12
Release Price: $250 USD
Where to Buy: JJJJound
Why You Should Cop: JJJJound and New Balance seemed to have found a winning formula when collaborating, and that’s simply to make products minimal and elevated. In the coming days, the Montreal-based imprint and the Boston sportswear giant will introduce their 990v3 “Brown/Black” colorway, marking the third occasion that they’ve teamed up on this silhouette. Mesh underlays and suede overlays come cowled with an earthy brown hue while the N logos, laces and sole units contrast with solid black.

Stüssy x Nike Air Force 1 Mid

Release Date: May 13
Release Price: TBC
Where to Buy: Stüssy
Why You Should Cop: Stussy and Nike are longtime collaborators and have joined forces on multiple projects related to footwear and apparel. Ahead of Summer, the two companies have reconvened to roll out a fresh batch of Stussy x Nike Air Force 1 Mid collaborations. The overall shape of the shoe is kept intact, but Stussy branding shows face across the straps, heels, tongues and in perforated fashion on the toe boxes. A black and white colorway along with a “Fossil Hemp” makeup and snakeskin-adorned iteration are confirmed to be dropping alongside matching apparel.

adidas YEEZY 500 “Granite”

Release Date: May 14
Release Price: $200 USD
Where to Buy: CONFIRMED
Why You Should Cop: Following up on dropping his newest music video for “Life of the Party,” Kanye West is reverting our attention back to his footwear empire with the Three Stripes. The creative genius has lined up a brand new adidas YEEZY 500 “Granite” colorway that’s both simple and versatile. Designed with a tonal approach, the kicks feature various shades of gray across its mesh and suede uppers along with its sole piece that’s loaded with adiPrene cushioning.

CLOT x Air Jordan 5 Low “Jade”

Release Date: May 14
Release Price: $200 USD
Where to Buy: JUICE
Why You Should Cop: Hong Kong-based streetwear stalwart CLOT is ramping up its footwear projects this Spring by teaming up with Jordan Brand once again to introduce the CLOT x Air Jordan 5 Low “Jade.” It’s a sneaker that pays homage to East and West, and hones in on the values and craftsmanship of jade stone. MJ’s 23 number shows face in the form of Chinese characters on the laterals and tiny jade rings are positioned in sets of two and three adjacent to the throat.

Air Jordan 11 Low “72-10”

Release Date: May 14
Release Price: $190 USD
Where to Buy: SNKRS
Why You Should Cop: Jordan Brand will often take the color schemes that have been well-received by the masses and apply it to the other silhouettes. One example of that is this Air Jordan 11 Low “72-10” iteration which plays off of the OG Air Jordan 11 “72-10” that was released back in 2015. It’s a nod to the Chicago Bulls’ 1995-1996 NBA season when Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen, Dennis Rodman and company achieved 72 wins and 10 losses in the regular season — the second greatest record in the league’s history to-date.

BSTN x adidas Forum ‘84 Low “Panathinaikos”

Release Date: May 14
Release Price: $120 USD
Where to Buy: adidas
Why You Should Cop: Very seldom do European basketball teams get shown any love, so BSTN and adidas are trying to flip that by engineering a footwear pack that pays homage to its most decorated franchises. One club that both parties have decided to give its flowers to Panathinaikos through a crispy clean adidas Forum ‘84 Low. Most of the kicks are done up in white, allowing the forest green accents to do most of the talking, and branding is found via the Panathinaikos moniker which is placed inside the strap windows and its clover logo that is debossed into the lateral side.

Air Jordan 3 “Dark Mocha”

Release Date: May 14
Release Price: $200 USD
Where to Buy: SNKRS
Why You Should Cop: The women’s audience is surely in for a treat this year as Jordan Brand has cooked up plenty of new colorways for them, one being this Air Jordan 3 “Dark Mocha” installment. This delectable looking rendition is reminiscent of Neopolitan as a majority of the real estate is styled in white while its titular shade dresses up the cement overlays and notes of “Atmosphere Pink” engulf the tongue branding and lower heel molds.
