The Nike Air Griffey 1 Cleat "Jackie Robinson" Has Officially Released
Continuing the celebrations of the baseball player’s legacy.

Long after Jackie Robinson made his game-changing debut in the MLB, the baseball player continues to cement his legacy within the sports world as one of the most prolific athletes in history.
As a continued celebration of his barrier-breaking career, Nike has produced a number of footwear options to commemorate the Brooklyn Dodger. Earlier this year, Nike announced it would be releasing a pair of Jackie Robinson-inspired Dunk Lows. Now, shortly after Jackie Robinson Day, Nike has released yet another iteration, this time prepping Ken Griffey Jr.’s signature baseball cleats, the Air Griffey 1, revisioning it with a Robinson makeover.
The made-for-the-mound silhouette is donned in a bold “Racer Blue” and “Coconut Milk” color combo seen across the upper. The blue panels throughout the shoe bear memorable quotes from the athlete himself, while his number “42” is adorned on the velcro strap, replacing Griffey Jr’s “24.” The cleats also feature a visible Air Max cushioning, while branded spikes that feature the subtle Swoosh detailing rounds out the pair.
The Nike Air Griffey 1 Cleat “Jackie Robinson” is currently available for $140 USD on Nike.
In other Nike news, the Dunk Low is releasing in a classic black/blue colorway.
