New Balance and The Basement Ready “Earth Brown” 2002R
Available exclusively from the London-based community platform.

London-based community platform The Basement is kicking off its much-anticipated New Balance partnership with a forthcoming “Earth Brown” iteration of the Boston brand’s heralded 2002R silhouette.
The news — which follows leaked images of both green and gray 2002Rs midway through last year — is the first time official information has been shared by either party, with a drop date of April 24 set.
Titled The Basement x New Balance 2002R “Earth Brown”, the sneaker arrives dressed in a tonal mix of brown and taupe hues, which have been constructed with a variety of rugged materials, including water-repellent suede and textured rubber. Black toe caps, with matching heel guards and a rigid outsole are accompanied by 3M panels, while the sneaker is completed with The Basement branding on the heel, tongue, lace tips and insole, besides New Balance’s epochal “N” logo.
The Basement x New Balance 2002R “Earth Brown” will be dropping as a “group exclusive” and will be available via The Basement’s online community from April 24, 3pm BST. To access the drop, you’ll need to become a member of the community platform here.
In other footwear news, New Balance has also released a mainline 2002R in a retro-inspired “NB White/Lagoon” colorway.
