New Balance Recalls Early 2000s Running Sneakers With Latest 2002R
Realised in a “NB White/Lagoon” colorway.

When New Balance dropped its “Protection Pack” midway through last year, it firmly put its 2002R silhouette on the map. A callback to the running sneakers of the early 2000s, the 2002R is built with a sturdy leather and mesh upper that sits atop a shock absorbing midsole and heel cushioning.
Such was the success of last year’s release — and subsequent “Protection Pack” follow-ups — New Balance has returned to the silhouette on a number of occasions since. Now for Spring/Summer 2022, the Boston-based label reintroduces the 2002R as a part of its mainline collection, dousing it in an understated “NB White/Lagoon” colorway.
Equipped with the aforementioned N-ergy and ABZORB midsole, the latest 2002R boasts arch support thanks to the Stability Web technology on the upper and lace-up closure for an adjustable fit.
Aesthetically the silhouette is decorated with a silver-like “NB White” upper, pops of “Lagoon” and splashes of orange across the midsole, and is rounded out with the brand’s “N” logo on the lateral side of the upper.
New Balance’s 2002R “NB White/Lagoon” is available to buy now from the brand’s online webstore, retailing at £100 (approx. $130 USD).
In other footwear news, New Balance has also dropped an outdoors-inspired 574T.
