Following Mihara Yasuhiro’s recent bowling-inspired collaboration with Nigel Cabourn, the Japanese designer and his label link up with BED J.W. FORD for the first time to deliver two collaboration sneakers in a stark colorway.

Back in 2020 in Paris right before Maison Mihara Yasuhiro’s Fall/Winter fashion show commenced, BED J.W. FORD took over the runway with its own guerilla show. Due to such an impact, the event eventually led to the current-day release which showcases the fusion of BED J.W. FORD’s branding and Mihara Yasuhiro’s iconic silhouette HANK and the BLAKEY.

Both sneakers’ uppers are structured with a soft black velour base and the signature chunky deformed midsole sitting over a brown rubber outsole. The deformed rubber texture continues onto the high-top BLAKEY shoe’s toe box and is contrasted with the velvety material finished with branding labels found on the tongue as one reads “Sublime meets Ridiculous” under BED J.W. FORD while the other has wearing instructions under the MMY logo. The low-top HANK variation showcases more embellishments compared to the former with white stitches outlining the laterals and midsole. Canvas material is preferred for the tongue and finished with the same branding labels with the ankle collar frayed for an additional distressed touch.

The BED J.W. FORD x Maison Mihara Yasuhiro collaboration sneakers are set to release on April 29 at Maison Mihara Yasuhiro Isetan Men’s Store, Maison Mihara Yasuhiro Isetan Ladies Store, MY Foot Products, Maison (MY) Labo, Mihara Yasuhiro’s website, and BED J.W. FORD’s website. The BLAKEY will retail for ¥49,500 JPY (approx. $386.92 USD) while the HANK goes for ¥47,300 JPY (approx. $369.81 USD).
