Ceramic DOXA Army Limited Edition Reporting For Duty
The 100-piece reissue will be sold through Watches of Switzerland.

Swiss dive watch specialist DOXA is reissuing one of its most sought-after watches in a limited edition collaboration with retailer Watches of Switzerland.
The DOXA Army was first developed for Swiss Army divers in the late 1960s and was one of the very first watches to use a case coating, an oxidation process that gave its stainless steel case a matte black finish to prevent glare.
The modern 100-piece limited edition reissue instead uses a black ceramic case to achieve the matte finish. The rest of the original design – its sand beige dial, checkerboard indices and oversized orange hands – remains intact.
“The DOXA Army is – due to its history with the Swiss Army and its unusual original design – one of the most sought-after vintage DOXA pieces for collectors,” says Jan Edöcs, CEO of DOXA. “It is truly a pleasure and an honour to call this cult model of our brand back to active duty with this new Limited Edition.”
Guest of honor at the recent New York launch of the model was Swiss Army Major Robert Hilty, ret. Hilty, 72, who has worn his original Doxa Swiss Army everyday since it was issued to him on his first day of basic training with the Swiss Army Divers unit.
The limited edition is presented in packaging sporting the same camouflage pattern used by the Swiss Army when the watches first issued, which also houses a black FKM rubber and camouflage NATO strap.
The DOXA Army reissue is available now from via Watches of Switzerland, priced £4,050 GBP in the UK or $4,500 USD in the US.
