C.P. Company Pioneers New Functional Materials for SS22

Heritage Italian label C.P. Company continues its exploration of fabrics and processing this upcoming Spring/Summer 2022 season, with two new series titled “Tracery” and ”GORE-TEX Infinium Mixed.” The “Tracery” series refers to a new sublimation printing process pioneered by C.P. Company in which films of color are evenly transferred onto the brand’s weatherproof Memri fabrics using high-pressure steam. When the process is applied to a pre-sewn garment, the technique produces a “mysterious shadow” that appears as a unique camouflage print.
The second “GORE-TEX Infinium Mixed” collection is a joint effort between W.L Gore & Associates and GORE-TEX Infinium. Water-resistant Infinium fabrics are combined with LCM (Light Chrome-Membrane) materials, and the semi-finished pieces are dyed before completing construction for a unique look and feel.
The new materials are applied throughout C.P Company’s Medium Jacket, fitted with a fully adjustable hood and hidden pockets, as well as the La Mille Jacket inspired by the anti-gas army jackets developed by the brand in 1988. Goggles are fixed on the hood and an additional watch viewer lens appears on the left sleeve cuff.
“I was shocked by the fact that the expression of each piece was all different due to special process of printing and dyeing. It’s like How far would you go? (laughs),” said graphic designer and collage artist, Kosuke Kawamura who’s featured in the lookbook. “It has a matte but unique texture that feels really good and comfortable to wear, and I think it’s great that it has a worn-in look even when it’s new. It naturally fits your body even when you walk or move around.”
Select SS22 collection items are now available at the C.P. Company online store.
