Aku NFT Project To Launch 3D Avatars With Collaborations From WHO DECIDES WAR, Upscale Vandal and More
The collection of 15,000 3D “Akutars” launches April 22.
Aku, the NFT project from former MLB player Micah Johnson, will soon be launching a collection of 15,000 3D avatars on the Ethereum blockchain.
Called “Akutars,” the first collection will be released on April 22 with collaborations from streetwear brands like Billionaire Boys Club, Pharrell William‘s skate brand Ice Cream, Roc Nation‘s apparel line Paper Planes, PUMA, Upscale Vandal and NYC streetwear outpost WHO DECIDES WAR.
Each of the collaborators will create one-of-one Akutar designs within the avatar collection, and elements from those designs will also appear throughout the collection on other Akutars. The new Akutar releases will also grant holders access to “Akuverse,” the project’s digital and physical metaverse concept. Existing Aku NFT holders will be airdropped at least one Akutar, with additional access to exclusive rare traits available to holders of multiple Aku NFT Chapters.
“Akutars will give our community, creators and collectors the opportunity to further express themselves creatively alongside iconic, culture-defining brands,” Johnson said.
The first Akutar collection will launch on April 22 on the Aku World website.
