Take a First Look at the Bryant Giles x New Balance 2002R
Appearing in all-over embroidery of various facial features.
New Balance has made an impressive footwear revival as of late, powered by its classic 550 silhouettes, and now through its 2002R sneakers. Following a series of popular “Protection Pack” releases, NB continues to rework its 2002R with the help of LA-based artist and designer Bryant Giles.
The upcoming sneakers arrive in lightly frayed Olive Green canvas uppers. Facial features are scattered throughout the sneakers in multi-colored embroidery, and “What Now?” text is subtly stitched on the heels eluding to his latest body of work that recently debuted at the Miami Art Basel. Lateral N logos appear in the form of a velcro patch, and insoles display a cohesive mosaic of character sketches. White midsoles below incorporate a gradient yellow mid-foot piece, and semi-translucent gray outsoles complete the design.
