Blackhorse Lane Ateliers Gives Universal Works The Washed Denim Treatment
Featuring fresh takes on the Fatigue Pant and Bakers Jacket.
Universal Works has built on its recent collaboration with Novesta by linking up with artisan makers of real denim jeans Blackhorse Lane Ateliers, as a part of its ongoing Future Friendship Project.
Since opening its doors back in 2016, Blackhorse Lane Ateliers has partnered with a host of established designers like Martine Rose, Nicholas Daley, Nigel Cabourn and more. Founded by Han Ates, it works out of a factory unlike many others, with its own unique kitchen, which hosts the occasional pop-up restaurant and has become a valued part of the local community.
The collaboration itself is a concise reinterpretation of classic Universal Works pieces in the beloved Fatigue Pant and Bakers Jacket. Reworked in a laid-back, washed denim, each garment features the subtle addition of Blackhorse Lane Atelier buttons — with the industrial saw tooth roof logo a testament to the hard-working, straight-talking roots of both brands.
The Blackhorse Lane Made For Universal Works collaboration will be available to buy in-store and online at Universal Works from March 25, 5pm (GMT), with prices starting at £250 and £295 for the Fatigue Pants and Bakers Jacket respectively.
