OUR LEGACY WORK SHOP has collaborated with Converse to introduce a heavily distressed rendition of the Chuck 70 in an “Overdyed Black” colorway.
The silhouette embodies the Swedish sub-label’s upcycling ethos by utilizing a 100% natural cotton canvas upper that is treated with bio-friendly pigments. This meticulous hand-dyeing process ensures that each individual shoe exhibits subtle variations in pigmentation and is prone to unique fading patterns over time. The quarters are redefined by swapping the traditional external ankle patch for an embroidered OUR LEGACY Yin-Yang logo, while the classic canvas tongue is secured with tonal lacing, with the package providing two sets of laces for customization.
The lower half of the sneaker transitions into a raw, vintage-inspired aesthetic defined by its heavily altered tooling. The sole features heavily skewed foxing tape and a shortened rubber toe cap, both meticulously designed to replicate the silhouette proportions of archival vintage Chuck Taylors. Emphasizing a worn-in look, the rubberized midsole and toe cap are intentionally scuffed, distressed and aged to look as though they have weathered extensive use. Discreet branding updates complete the design, including a hidden Chuck patch stitched onto the medial interior and a custom co-branded sockliner resting inside.
