A variety of patterns and materials make their way onto this installment, all of which draw influence from the ‘60s and early ‘70s youth culture. A standout feature of the kicks is the olive green mudguard which calls out vintage military M-65 jackets. The toe boxes and mid-foot overlays match up with a light washed denim pattern and come neighbored by bandanna graphics on the heel panels, striped Nike checks on the lateral walls and “flower power” Swooshes on the medial sides that are symbolic of this era’s music festival peak and its playful fashion trends. No two pairs are fashioned in the same manner in terms of their pattern placements. Additional touches include that velvet-adorned tongues, speckles that cover the lower half of the midsole piece and guitar pick-inspired hang tags. Multi-colored Concepts branding arrives under the traditional Sportswear tongue logos for extra flair.
The Concepts x Nike Air Max 1 SP “Mellow” is slated to launch via Concepts on March 5.
