Louis Vuitton Pays Homage to Virgil Abloh's Seventh Season With New Bag Collection
“7.”
Louis Vuitton continues to pay homage to Virgil Abloh, one of the fashion house’s most prolific designers, in the form of new additions to its Spring/Summer 2022 line-up.
To commemorate the seventh season of the late Virgil Abloh’s collection at Louis Vuitton, the luxury label has unveiled a selection of bags inspired by the atelier’s trunk silhouette. In a newly updated travel accessories collection, the capsule includes soft trunks that come in a spherical shape and a rectangular luggage structure, similar to those found in the 1900s. Each of the bags features the number “7” as a motif and nod to Abloh’s seventh season collection.
Known for adding a pop of color to timeless pieces by utilizing neon accents, the number “7” is prominently fixed on each bag in a standout hue. The soft trunk is dressed in the quintessential Louis Vuitton orange, evoking the house’s suitcases from the 1920s as the retro color adds to the vintage-inspired design. The same piece is also available in the traditional LV monogram pattern but features a touch of Abloh with the neon yellow strap. The Pochette Voyage MM is lined with blue turquoise, a color used often in Abloh’s previous collections.
The new Louis Vuitton bag collection is currently available online and items are expected to retail between $1,386 USD to $4,697 USD.
