JJJJound has a tendency to turn heads when any time it announces a new footwear collaboration, but its forthcoming project with BAPE just might be its most exciting to-date. For a brand that has been around for nearly three decades, BAPE has established itself as a force in the streetwear realm, and it’s allowed the Montreal-based partner to apply its forward-thinking design mentality to its classic silhouettes.
The three-piece capsule is headlined by the JJJJound x BAPE STA offering. A minimal and neutral-toned palette has been applied to the iconic silhouette, the smooth leather uppers and midsole units being coated in a bright white while the star logos, heel overlays and treading contrast with a light gray. “JJJJound” branding has been fittingly pasted to the heels and insoles.
Dropping with the sneakers are two apparel pieces including a pullover hoodie and tee. The sweatshirt comes in gray with white branding while the tee is cooked up in white with gray print, both of which spell out “A TASTEFUL APE” as a reinterpreted nod to JJJJound’s design simplistic-yet-effective- design language.
