The month of February is going to be quite the eventful one as big time sporting events such as Super Bowl LVI and 2022 NBA All-Star weekend are going down, so this is certainly an exciting time for your favorite sportswear brands to show out. In this first week of the month, you’ll see your imprints such as Nike, adidas, PUMA and others drop off some crazy sneakers, but before we get into those goods, let’s sift through all of the biggest news in footwear that transpired last week.

HYPEBEAST’s Sole Mates series had Nikko Ramos — Senior Brand Director for TITAN — on as its latest featured guest to discuss the basketball brand’s Air Jordan 23 collaboration and the evolution of sneaker culture in the Philippines. On the footwear front, we saw Nike unpack a sizable amount of new offerings including the Nike LeBron 9 “Big Bang,” CLOT x Nike Dunk High, Social Status x Nike Air Max Penny 1 and the Gnarhunters x Nike SB Dunk Low. Folks on the Jordan Brand side made a decent amount of noise as well unveiling the Air Jordan 4 “Infrared,” A Ma Maniére x Air Jordan 2 SP on-foot images and official photos of the Air Jordan 1 High 85 “Georgetown.”

The Three Stripes team definitely did not disappoint last week and it showed off more upcoming footwear collaborations with Sean Wotherspoon, a clean adidas YEEZY BOOST 350 V2 “Bone” colorway and Beyoncé latest IVY PARK x adidas “IVY HEART” capsule. In terms of other brands, Feature and Saucony’s “High Roller” Pack ended with the Shadow 6000 “Chocolate Chip” colorway, Miu Miu released its $695 USD New Balance 574 collaboration and UNDERCOVER and Guidi connected for a horse leather Back Zip boot drop.

Now that you’re all caught up on the action, let’s dive into this week’s best footwear releases. And when you’re all finished checking those out, be sure to browse through the latest footwear styles via the HBX web store.

Nike Zoom Freak 3 “UNO”

Release Date: February 1
Release Price: $120 USD
Where to Buy: Nike
Why You Should Cop: In celebration of UNO’s 50th anniversary, Nike teamed up with the iconic card game to produce a special footwear and apparel collection with reigning NBA Champion Giannis Antetekounmpo. On this sneakers side of things, the two parties cooked up four colorways, all of which are adorned with UNO imagery, along with custom patterns, cards, and even a remix of the two-time MVP’s personal insignia.

Nike Air Max2 CB 94 “Suns”

Release Date: February 1
Release Price: $160 USD
Where to Buy: Nike
Why You Should Cop: During his prime playing days on the hardwood, Charles Barkley arguably had his most impactful years when he suited for the Phoenix Suns for four seasons. To honor this era of his career, Nike has fashioned his signature Air Max2 CB 94 in a Suns-friendly makeover. Purple and orange accents are sprinkled to the midsoles and tongues, and a “34” hit is embedded into the lateral heels to nod to his jersey number.

Nike Dunk Low “Dark Marina Blue”

Release Date: February 2
Release Price: $100 USD
Where to Buy: Bodega
Why You Should Cop: Nike continues to churn out an insane amount of new Dunk colorways every month, and to kick off February on the right note, it’s bringing life to the Dunk Low “Dark Marina Blue.” This particular colorway essentially takes the palette of the “Argon” Dunk Low co.jp release from the early 2000s and flips it in reverse. Only certain boutiques are dropping these this week, but you can likely expect a SNKRS drop to follow shortly.

Notre x Vault by Vans OG Style 36 LX

Release Date: February 3
Release Price: TBC
Where to Buy: Notre
Why You Should Cop: Following up on their collaborative footwear collection from 2020, Notre and Vault by Vans have reconnected to introduce a trio of OG Style 36 LX iterations. The two parties delve into the world of cafe drinks here and craft colorways inspired by espresso, matcha and tea. Each is done up with a two-toned palette and comes prepared with Notre’s signature hand shake logo on the jazz stripes.

Air Jordan 6 Low “Lunar New Year”

Release Date: February 2
Release Price: $200 USD
Where to Buy: SNKRS
Why You Should Cop: The celebrations of Lunar New Year are here and Jordan Brand is rolling out a handful of festive footwear renditions. One of the styles included in the capsule is the Air Jordan 6 Low “Lunar New Year” which bears a regal color scheme. If you recall the AJ 6 “GMP” from the 2021 London Games, it’s essentially styled in similar fashion but in a low-cut form.

Nike Air Force 1 Mid “Flax”

Release Date: February 4
Release Price: $140 USD
Where to Buy: Nike
Why You Should Cop: The Air Force 1 Mid is slated to have a major year with striking collaboration and GRs, the latter of which will include the ever-classic “Flax” colorway. This iteration is typically released around the Fall season given the nature of its autumnal aesthetic, but the Swoosh has switched things up a bit and decided to offer you a shot at copping these earlier.

PUMA MB.01 “Buzz City”

Release Date: February 4
Release Price: $125 USD
Where to Buy: PUMA
Why You Should Cop: LaMelo Ball’s sophomore season has been nothing short of exciting to witness, and he’s been showing off his flashy handles and jaw-dropping assists while rocking his signature PUMA MB.01 model. To kick off the second month of the year, Ball is blessing his fans with a fresh “Buzz City” colorway that is expressive of Charlotte Hornets away colors.

Pharrell x BBC x adidas NMD HU “Running Dog”

Release Date: February 4
Release Price: $240 USD
Where to Buy: CONFIRMED
Why You Should Cop: Much like Kanye West and his line of YEEZY footwear, Pharrell’s sneakers with the Three Stripes will often see restocks. Next up for the creative polymath is a second round of the Pharrell x BBC x adidas HU NMD “Running Dog” colorway that comes styled with pleated PrimeKnit uppers in green and the streetwear signature logo embroidered across the vamp. Make sure your CONFIRMED app is downloaded and updated so you can secure yours.
