Invented in 1938, Reverse Weave is a tried-and-true horizontal knitting technique that cuts heavy-duty cotton on the cross-grain to improve durability and prevent shrinkage. For “NEW WEAVE,” Obana reintroduces the thick cotton pieces including sweatshirts, shorts, hoodies, joggers, and T-shirts in a boxy fit with new panel placements and hidden pockets.
Instead of cutting the pieces in a straight line, the stitching accents arch inwards, and additional panels appear across the front and back of the tees to providing structure. Off-set cobranded tags are featured on the inner collar and Champion patches are displayed along the hems.
The N. HOOLYWOOD x Champion collection will be available at the Champion and N. HOOLYWOOD websites as well as select physical locations beginning on March 4. Prices range from ¥23,000 to ¥28,000 JPY (approximately $200 to $242 USD).
