Kiko Kostadinov Extends His Inline ASICS Initiatives With the HN2-S PROTOBLAST
The new model features toe boxes from the GELHOOP V6 and sole units from the NOVABLAST.

Even though we may never see Kiko Kostadinov release another official footwear collaboration with ASICS, he still remains affiliated with the brand by lending his creative touch to its SportsStyle category. And on deck for its inline initiatives is the all-new ASICS HN2-S PROTOBLAST — a fresh lifestyle runner that bears elements from other classic ASICS silhouettes.
For this new offering, the Bulgarian designer borrows the toe box structure from the GELHOOP V6 and the sole pieces from the NOVABLAST, and mixes them with his own contemporary design language. Oversized tiger stripes are supplied to the forefoot and come neighbored by mesh underlays and patent leather overlays that adorn the side panels and throat. Other features to note include that of the tongue tabs that extend past the shoe to show off an exposed loop along with the midsole molds that are sculpted with an aggressive aesthetic. Four colorways have been unveiled thus far including an “Evergreen/Shaded Spruce,” “Black/Gray,” “Black/Brown” and a “Blue/Purple.”
The kicks are expected to hit European retailers like Afew for a €140 (approx. $158 USD). A US release date hasn’t been confirmed by the ASICS team yet.
