WILDSIDE Yohji Yamamoto Partners With Rebuild by NEEDLES’ For a Deconstructed Flannel Shirt
Made from a dismantled flannel shirt that was cut into 7 pieces.
Rebuild by NEEDLES, a sub-line of Keizo Shimizu’s brand, NEEDLES, has teamed up with WILDSIDE Yohji Yamamoto for a collaboration that marries retro-Americana with deconstructed design aesthetics.
The collaboration features the Flannel 7cut Wide Shirt — a loose-fitting shirt made from a dismantled flannel shirt that was cut into seven pieces, before being reconstructed into a new one. Doused in WILDSIDE’s concept black hue as a reference to Yohji Yamato, the shirt comes with an irregular-cut hem and an embroidered peony on its left-side chest pocket. Given the unique construction process, no two pieces are the same as each shirt comprises different check patterns, colors, stitching, and buttons depending on the original piece it was reconstructed from.
The WILDSIDE Yohji Yamamoto x Rebuild by NEEDLES Flannel 7cut Wide Shirt will retail for ¥37,400 JPY (approximately $272 USD). Launching on December 14, the piece will be available online and in-store at WILDSIDE Yohji Yamamoto’s Shinsaibashi store in Osaka.
