Artist and designer, Aitor Throup has partnered up with Hong Kong-based retailer, ink to unveil a collection of 55 rare and unique pieces from the artist’s archives, aptly titled “Original Archive 55.”

Back in January, ink collaborated with the artist for the “15YearsOfAitorThroupStudio” exhibition at K11 MUSEA in Hong Kong. Following the success of the exhibition, the two reunite again to breathe new life into some of Throup’s most iconic garments from previous collections. The lineup includes rare one-offs, prototypes, and pre-show samples such as the Shiva Skull Bag, Skull Backpack, as well as the original “1 of 1” New Object Research Stockwell denim jacket.

Speaking on this collaboration, ink’s founder, Pita Cheng mentions that he has been a long-time follower of Throup, stating that “his fantastic aesthetics and extraordinary designs blew my mind and fascinated me.” He further explains how Throup’s works have inspired his crafts and ambitions, and that he wishes to “share these timeless designs with the new generation.”

On December 13, Aitor Throup will be drawing on Instagram Live to kick off the launch. The finished artwork will then be auctioned by ink, with all proceeds donated to WWF Hong Kong. In addition to that, a photographic campaign of the collection, directed by the artist himself, can be viewed in the gallery above.

The “Original Archive 55” collection will be available via ink, starting December 14.

Elsewhere in fashion, Feng Chen Wang and UGG present inaugural apparel designs in their third collaboration.
