Woods, a storied Canadian outdoor brand, who was trusted to get the first Canadians to the top of the world as part of the 1982 Canadian Everest Expedition, is honoring the 40th anniversary of this milestone with a Made in Canada winter collection. The expedition placed two climbers on the 8,848-meter summit of Mount Everest, proudly outfitted with Woods tents, sleeping bags and down parkas.

Drawing parallels to this historical moment, the brand injects its home-bred capsule with modern-day interpretations of the apparel donned by Canada’s bravest. This collection features iconic Everest ’82 logo patches reimagined from the original expedition, with signature silhouettes and colorways that pay homage to this triumphant first and the next generation of explorers charting new territory. “To uphold the expedition’s legacy, we’ve designed, developed and manufactured the collection in Canada,” said Jordan Bain, Woods’ Brand Manager. “For us, it’s not just a logo patch. It’s a badge of history, of Canadian spirit and tenacity.”

Comprised of men’s, women’s and unisex apparel, the Woods Everest ‘82 Collection includes down parkas, vests, hoodies, long-sleeve shirts and accessories, all designed to take on Canadian winters. Inspired by the 1982 blue down parka, the collection is complete with retro-inspired graphics, oversized silhouettes and high-shine fabrics, and the outerwear is equipped with 600-Fill Power ALLIED Feather + Down™ insulation. Lightweight pieces arrive with the assortment of hoodies and long-sleeve shirts, which feature collage-style patches — “Seven Summits,” “ME (Mount Everest) Base Camp,” “Goddess Of The Sky,” and more — commemorating the 1982 Canadian Expedition. Neutral tones and pops of punchy red, purple and blue build out the capsule.

Brave your own adventures by shopping the range at woods.ca or by visiting exclusive Canadian retailers SportChek and Atmosphere, and catch a glimpse of the collection in the lookbook above.
