Wrangler® Brings Back The Classics With 75th Anniversary Reissue Collection
The collection resurfaces iconic Western styles of the past, with modern twists.
The Wrangler® story began 75 years ago in the American West. The tried-and-true brand brought people from all walks of life together — rodeo riders, rockstars, artists, real-life cowboys — over a common love for durable and expressive garments. Today, that story continues as Wrangler dives deep into the archives to reimagine timeless pieces through a contemporary lens.
Wrangler’s Reissue Collection is inspired by past designs, vintage photography, print ads of the past, and everyone who has made the brand what it is today. Celebrating 75 years of achievement and community, the label re-styles and reissues iconic silhouettes and shapes so that the legacy can flourish with time.
The collection consists of 100% cotton and twill pant and jacket sets with cropped hems and clean tailoring, for a modern take on yesterday’s trends. The Selvedge denim jacket is modeled after the original 24MJZ but is updated with an action back and pleating down the front for a more edgy look. The red Unisex jacket reconstitutes the classic trucker look through updated embroidery and subtle pleating.
A comic book-inspired print gives the collection a pop of color, informed by Wrangler’s original comics. Alongside the addition of a new print as well as special edition patches and buttons, traditional design elements are preserved, such as signature “W” pocket stitching and full front zip closure.
When Wrangler first emerged, the brand created 50 original comic books and distributed them with every pair of jeans sold. The printed works were a nod to the golden age of comic books, from 1938 to 1956, while at the same time a way to connect the brand to relevant pop culture references of the time. The original comics included old western characters, while the updated version — created by Wrangler’s own comic artist and aficionado, Kelly Yates — depicts bolder colors and more updated symbols.
The Wrangler Reissue collection will launch November 16 on wrangler.com and the second drop is set for 2023.
