Rimowa Latest Original Cabin Suitcase Turns to the Aurora Borealis for Inspiration
A tribute to the stunning natural phenomenon.
Ahead of the holiday season, Rimowa has now unveiled its latest creation, a new take on its Original Cabin suitcase inspired by the Aurora Borealis. The tribute to the stunning natural phenomenon stands as a continuation of the Celestial collections from Rimowa which includes the Mars, Mercury, and Moon suitcases.
Limited to just 1,000 numbered pieces, a nod to the speed of 1,000 kilometers per second at which charged solar particles make their way through the Earth’s magnetic field to collide with our atmosphere to create the Northern Lights, the case features a pattern of vibrant greens and violets. Made in Cologne, Germany, the mix of colors is expressed on the backdrop of black anodized aluminum to offer interesting visual focal points. A green sealing is also applied to form an optical illusion of light reflecting off the surface, mimicking the effect of the natural phenomenon in the sky.
Each Aurora Borealis Original Cabin suitcase comes complete with an anodized aluminum badge, leather luggage tag engraved with the Rimowa logo, and made in Germany tag on the interior with unique numbering.
The Aurora Borealis Original Cabin suitcase will be available via Rimowa come November 3.
