Much like Nike roster members LeBron James and the late Kobe Bryant, Kevin Durant will now become the next signature hoops athlete to have his own retro sneaker run. The two-time NBA champion’s catalog is replete with classic offerings, but the first iteration to return to the fore is the Nike KD 3 “All-Star.” News of this bring-back first surfaced back in June, but we now have a look at the pair’s official images.

Designed by Leo Chang, Design Director for Nike Basketball, the kicks are returning with all of their original design characteristics from when they debuted in 2011. To match up with the Slim Reaper’s Western Conference All-Star threads, the Swoosh team dyed the glossy leather overlays, Flywire forefoot panels, mesh tongues and heels in a lush red hue. Subtle notes of contrast as the Swooshes appear in white with black borders while the film features black and red gradience. Tongues arrive with hole-punched builds while the heels are decorated with “KD35” buttons that are shaped in video game controller-like form to nod to Durant’s at-the-time jersey number.

These will likely release ahead of the 2023 NBA All-Star game which takes place in February. The MSRP is $130 USD.

For other new, check out the upcoming Nike Dunk Low “Midnight Navy.”
