DSquared2 certainly knows how to present us with a throwback, having recently paid tribute to Jamaican icon Bob Marley in its Spring/Summer 2023 collection. For its Pre-Fall 2023 collection, designers Dean and Dan Caten reminisce on their teenage years of vintage shopping in Toronto’s Kensington Market.

DSquared2’s latest offering reflects the hidden gems found inside thrift stores on a busy day. Encapsulated by vintage-inspired looks infused with DSquared2’s chic attitude, the range acts as a wishlist for Dean and Dan, featuring washed tees, checkered blazers, and striped cardigans blasted with rainbow hues.

Embellished maxi skirts stand alongside upcycled denim variations that ooze with a Y2K feel, while fitted suits are layered beneath knitted vests taken from grandpa’s wardrobe. Cropped outerwear pairs nicely with slouchy camouflage cargo pants held up by chunky leather belts. Additionally, leather varsity jackets likely donated by college athletes are seen next to “DSquared2 University” sweatshirts and army-style parkas influenced by retired veterans.

For a thrilling night out, the ladies are offered a shimmering assortment of club-ready gear destined for the dancefloor. Accessories from handbags and charmed necklaces to cowboy boots and maple leaf-ornamented chokers finish the collection.

Take a closer look at the DSquared2 Pre-Fall 2023 collection in the gallery above.
