Nike Adds the Air Max 90 to Its "The Future is Equal" Collection

In a world that continues to put a greater emphasis on social justice and equality, brands such as Nike have taken steps to join in. Over the years, collections such as the brand’s annual “Be True” capsule see the Swoosh celebrate Pride Month with themed footwear releases. Now, Nike has recently unveiled its next thematic collection celebrating people from all backgrounds, titled “The Future is Equal.”
First spotted outfitting a pair of Dunk Lows, the theme now finds itself attached to the Air Max 90. The otherwise plain colorway sports a simple design that begins with a white canvas upper that was also featured on its matching Dunk Low. Tonal branding, including its Swooshes and tongue design, is broken up with thematic graphics at each shoe’s lateral heel. Equality-emphasizing touches also arrive at the unique sockliner while the Air-infused sole unit favors a “Sail” midsole and slightly darker rubber outsole to complete the look.
For now, the Nike Air Max 90 “The Future is Equal” and its accompanying collection does not have a release date. It is currently expected to launch via Nike and select retailers in the coming months.
