'Wednesday' Tops 'Stranger Things' for Most Hours Viewed in One Week on Netflix

Wednesday, the fantasy series starring Jenna Ortega as Wednesday Addams, has dominated the Netflix Top 10 chart for the week of November 21 to 27, with a total of 341.2 million hours viewed. The figure marks the most hours viewed in one week for an English-language TV series on the streaming platform.
The comedy-horror show beat out the fourth season of Stranger Things, which previously held the record with 335.01 million hours watched in early June. The all-time record holder is Squid Game, which pulled 571.8 million hours viewed in its peak week.
Wednesday has landed in the Top 10 in all 93 countries included in Netflix’s data tracking, and it claims the No. 1 spot in 83, tying with Stranger Things 4. Netflix’s data shows that more than 50 million households have watched the series since its premiere on November 23.
The series follows the titular character as she enters high school at Nevermore Academy, where she becomes acquainted with her burgeoning psychic abilities, and later as she attempts to solve the murder mystery that involved her parents 25 years prior. Aside from Ortega, the show also stars Catherine Zeta-Jones as Wednesday’s mother, Morticia, along with Riki Lindhome, Jamie McShane, Hunter Doohan, Georgie Farmer, Moosa Mostafa and more. Christina Ricci, who depicted Wednesday in Barry Sonnenfeld’s original 1991 Addams Family movie, also appears in the series.
