With 2022 winding down to a close, Nike already has its eyes set on the festive holidays of early 2023, one being Lunar New Year. And so to gear up for the annual tradition, the Swoosh is crafting various sneaker colorways that align with the celebration, one being this Nike Air Force 1 Low “Chinese New Year.”

The most striking call-out on these kicks is the soft, white fur that surrounds the Swooshes and heel overlays as it’s meant to represent the Year of the Rabbit and nod to those that were born in the years 1915, 1927, 1939, 1951, 1963, 1975, 1987, 1999, 2011 and 2023. Sitting next to these animal textures arrives tan overlays that come embroidered with tonal floral patterns to further echo its China-inspired motif. Jaded teal accents are used subtly and applied to the “AF1” hits that lie on the lower throat as well as the Nike Air branding that is parked out on the rear. Additional elements to point to include the tiny 2023 hits that are printed on the tongues, modernized insole “Just Do It” branding and the bottoms which feature a milky tint.

No official release info has been announced yet but you can likely expect these to drop before the CNY holiday in February.

In other news, Nyjah Huston previewed his Nyjah 3 in a new Nike SB Need That video.
