Nike Football has just presented its latest football boot, the Nike Zoom Mercurial Superfly 9 Elite CR7 FG, and pays homage to the footballing career of Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Manchester United forward’s link-up with Nike started in 2003 and he became the third athlete in the company’s history to be awarded a lifetime contract in 2016. However, between now and then, the six-time Ballon d’Or winner has sported some iconic boots such as the Nike Mercurial Vapor “Chrome” — which he wore during the early stages of his career — and the “Orange Peel” iteration of the same boot which he wore to smash in his first-ever Manchester United hat trick at home to Newcastle in 2008.

Now, these newest boots come in a “White/Concord/Medium Blue/Metallic Copper” colorway and take inspiration from the Portuguese icon to show what can be achieved when one dedicates themselves to the craft of the beautiful game. Also designed with a copper trim and enamel-like coating, each speckle of detail represents the culmination Ronaldo’s legacy, with each graphic symbolizing how CR7 carries the story of his boots — along with the heritage of his nation — to the World Cup for the fifth time in his career.

Rounding off the design, the boots are also loaded with a football-specific Zoom Air unit, allowing players to maintain high speeds on the pitch throughout each match. Tri-star studs are also used to provide multi-directional traction with every step — this allows ballers to change directions quickly and confidently. Flyknit is used to wrap the ankle and the upper is made from Vaporposite+, which uses a grippy, grid mesh for optimal ball control at high speeds.

You can take a look at the new Nike Zoom Mercurial Superfly 9 Elite CR7 FG above and it is available on the official Nike website now.
