The NFL and Fine Artist CHITO Drop an Exclusive Merch Collection for FW22

As part of the National Football League’s celebration of diversity and Latino heritage, the league has partnered with Mexican-American fine artist CHITO for an exclusive merch collection that expands on the league’s ongoing “Por La Cultura” (For the Culture) initiative.

The collaboration features two limited-edition Mitchell & Ness jerseys (one in black, and one in white), that contain the number “22” on the front. Artistic iconography is present within the highlighted numbers as a black-and-white snakeskin print is outlined with white paint on the black jersey, and a feathered black-and-white graphic is outlined with black paint on the white jersey. Inspired by the Mexican flag, CHITO named each jersey “Perch” and “ssss” respectively.

Additionally, the artist’s signature “Pup” motif appears on the upper-right shoulder of the jersey and is made of a high-quality Thermoplastic Polyurethane (TPU) patch.

Commenting on his contribution to the project, CHITO says: “I am happy to create works true to my practice combined with an appreciation of American football. The jersey designs were inspired by elements of the Mexican flag.”

“I hope these pieces inspire the youth to stay creative and productive with their art because it is important and can take you places that you never would have thought,” added CHITO.

The official NFL x CHITO collab collection is available now on the NFL Shop website and will be coupled with nine airbrushed helmets placed on display at Estadio Azteca – in Mexico City – on November 21, for the upcoming NFL international game.
