Show Off Your Pride With the Nike Air Deldon "Be True"
Elena Delle Donne’s signature sneaker celebrates the LGBTQIA+ community.

WNBA superstar Elena Delle Donne officially released her first signature sneaker, the Nike Air Deldon, with Nike earlier this year. The shoe features Nike’s Flyease entry system, designed to allow for a smoother process of putting shoes on, supporting those unable to do so. Inspiration for this inclusion came from her sister Lizzie who was born with cerebral palsy and autism, resulting in her benefitting greatly from the inclusive design. Expanding on the theme of inclusivity that Delle Donne is committed to, the Air Deldon has been outfitted in a Pride-themed “Be True” colorway for LGBTQIA+ History Month.
While the sneaker’s Flyease upper, mixed material construction, co-branding and Air Strobel-backed sole unit make a return, the focus of this colorway is being true to oneself. Each year, Nike hosts a “Be True” collection that supports Pride Month. However, the Swoosh looks to be expanding its involvement with the LGBTQIA+ community this year with a second set of “Be True” releases. “BE TRUE” text can be spotted on the sneaker at the custom sockliner, toebox, the strap’s medial portion and on the special carabiner and shoebox included with the pair.
Release for the Nike Air Deldon “Be True” is scheduled for sometime in the next few weeks as LGBTQIA+ History Month continues. Look for it to hit shelves via Nike and select Nike Basketball retailers at a price of $120 USD.
In other footwear news, Jordan Brand has put together a space-themed “Exploration Unit” collection that features two Air Jordan 1 styles and the Jordan Legacy 312.
