Miu Miu’s Barely-There Mini’s and Stonewashed Denim Added One Last Jolt of Fun to Paris’ SS23 Collections
With FKA Twigs and Ethel Cain making surprise appearances on the runway.
Paris Fashion Week has officially come to a close for the Spring/Summer 2023 collection season. But with one last hoorah to give before the curtains closed, Miu Miu’s barely-there mini’s and stonewashed denim added a jolt of fun to the designer lineup – with FKA Twigs and Ethel Cain making surprise appearances on the runway.
Highlighting both men’s and women’s ready-to-wear items, Miuccia Prada’s SS23 Miu Miu presentation cleared a blank slate for next season, showing a plethora of neutral colors including beige, brown, grey and khaki. The earthy tones came in the form of asymmetrically layered cotton T-shirts, technical fabric pants and long jackets, shirt dresses and open-toed footwear.
Aiding the color palette were some stonewashed denim looks shown in black and brown colorways, in the form of short and long denim blazers, denim skirts and pants. Full-zip leather shirts paired with leather pants, along with treated ombré leather vests and shorts made their way down the runway too, while singer and songwriter Cain’s look comprised a grey signature MM jewel-encrusted shirt, beige logo tee and beige skirt.
Closing the show, groundbreaking artist Twigs appeared on the runway in a black MM logo ribbed knit sweater worn over top of a white button-down shirt, both cinched together by a wide-waisted cummerbund skirt with oversized utility pockets.
Also closing out PFW, Louis Vuitton took fashion to the max with oversized detail proportions for SS23.
