Clean Lines and Crisp Tailoring Pave the Way for Lanvin’s SS23 Showcase
Presenting a sophisticated, no-frills collection.
As Paris Fashion Week winds down, many trends have been spotted on runways throughout the season, and one, in particular, has been men’s tailoring. Lanvin’s Spring/Summer 2023 showcase presented a sophisticated, no-frills collection that honed in on clean lines and crisp tailoring.
Although Lanvin’s artistic director Bruno Sialelli displayed both men’s and women’s clothing on the runway, a vast majority of the collection highlighted sleek single-button suiting in a neutral color palette, along with shiny satin and silk fabrications.
Pants lengths hit just at the bottom of floral imbued, leather round-toe dress shoes for men and split-front leather booties for women. Denim was sleek and crafted in a dark indigo format with a full-leg and frontal creasing.
The middle of the collection provided bold pops of color, in blue, green and orange (in the form of shiny leather jackets). Graphic T-shirts with images of a clear shopping bag full of peaches, and a new mesh trainer, in an emerald green colorway (with a black rubber outsole), were also introduced in the collection.
Additional standouts include a shimmering sheer organza men’s suit elegantly worn under a white overcoat, followed by a string of women’s sheer fabric bucket hats on the runway.
In other fashion week news, Ib Kamara’s Off-White™ debut challenged societal notions for SS23.
