Cozy Up in Rick Owens' FW22 Strobe Sneakers in "Pearl/Milk"
The American designer reworks his high-cut model with cold weather-ready materials.
For his Fall/Winter 2022 fashion show earlier this year, Rick Owens took over Paris’ Palais de Tokyo vampire-esque “STROBE” collection. Items from the eerie show are now starting to become available to the general public, one being the American designer’s Strobe Sneakers that have been engineered in a new, seasonally-appropriate “Pearl/Milk” colorway.
The kicks are an overt nod to the colder time of the year given that it has been reworked with cozier upper materials. Instead of employing the traditional denim constructions, Owens ushers in warmer lamb shearling real fur fabric that is backdropped with a pearl hue. Zebra-inspired stripes are tossed onto the high-cut kicks for extra flair atop the collars and side panels and arrive fitted with fall-fitting black, orange and green accents. The toe caps, insoles, interior lining all come derived from calf leather while the matching shark-tooth outsoles are made with rubber. Extra details to call out include the creamy shoe laces and the metallic silver zippers that are planted on the medial side.
If you’re keen on adding these cozy kicks to your rotation this season, you can find them available now via Rick Owens for £970 (approx. $1,110 USD).
