adidas and IRAK Reunite for Two-Way Samba Collaboration
The NYC graffiti crew delivers a neutral approach to the silhouette.
After lending a helping hand from Japan-based retailer DESCENDANT for a subtle Campus pack and linking up with Song for the Mute for the Shadowturf “SFTM-001.”, adidas has continued to push out collaborations. The Three Stripes sportswear titan is now set to reunite with IRAK, a historic NYC graffiti crew led by artist Kunle “EARSNOT” Martins.
The duo has walked hand-in-hand for over a decade, connecting in 2007 on a highly sought-after EQT Support Runner, followed by another release the subsequent year and a pairing of GORE-TEX-infused ZX 8000 GTXs in 2020.
Coming together for a two-part adidas Samba collaboration, IRAK delivers a laid-back approach through neutral palettes paired with its recognizable artistic logo. The first sneaker sees a tonal black-on-black upper, enhanced by a leather construction and soft suede mudguards. White Three Stripes branding pops off the medials, accompanied by heel tabs supplied in the same vibrant tone. The other model sees a dominant white upper, adorned with grey suede tips and black leather detailing.
Both sneakers are rounded out by gilded “IRAK 2022” lettering that hits the quarters and the unit’s identifiable yellow logo on the tongues, while gum rubber bottoms mutually complete the pack.
