James Whitner, founder of The Whitaker Group — continues to shake up the footwear industry with striking collaborations and exceptional storytelling. And for his Social Status boutique, he’s aiming to up the ante on the collaborations front in 2022 with the delivery of more team-ups, one being this Social Status x Nike Air Max Penny 1 that has just surfaced.

No official details have been announced about the shoes just yet, but there’s already indications here that the kicks are heavily inspired by various sports. The standout feature of the kicks are the removable Swooshes that come packaged with them. Each of the Nike logos are ostensibly symbolic of a different sport given their textures and colors. There’s one that comes adorned with red stitch-like embellishments that nod to baseball, one that is dialed to a deep burgundy hue to likely represent football and one that comes treated with basketball leathers. Additionally, this a volt Swoosh which possibly speaks to tennis and a yellow variation is indicative of either soccer or hockey. Elsewhere on the kicks, the shoes are readied with off-white overlays, solid black piping and crisp white underlays.

Peep an early look at the pair here above.
