Kassl Editions Reworks the ASICS GEL-1090

Amsterdam-based label Kassl Editions has unveiled its first footwear collaboration, partnering with ASICS for two new colorways of the GEL-1090 silhouette. The new designs are both variations on a green and white colorway, with the color palette complemented by hits of metallic silver.

The stand-out feature of the two colorways is the protective sheath on its upper — one in white and another in green — which is constructed from the same signature oil fabric as Kassl Edition’s signature coat styles. The white and green sheaths are then bonded to the sole unit using a hand-applied PU rubber drip

The Kassl Editions x ASICS GEL-1090 is limited to just 30 pairs, which will be raffled to raise money for the mental health charity Mind. This is the latest stage of the ASICS Crafts for Minds program, which raises money while celebrating the importance of craftsmanship and attention to detail in creating long-lasting products.

Speaking about the initiative Emma Ihsan, Head of Corporate Partnerships at Mind, said:

“We are so grateful to ASICS for their support through the Crafts for Mind activity. We believe that the sport sector has an important role to play in emphasising the link between physical activity and good mental health. The funds and awareness generated through this activity will enable us to continue to provide advice, information and support so that no-one has to face a mental health problem alone.“

All 30 pairs of Kassl Edition’s collaboration with ASICS will be available for raffle via END. from January 22 until January 29.
