Heron Preston Shares His Vision for SS22
Pushing his label’s scope of sustainability.
Furthering his vision, Heron Preston created a collection that encompasses all genders and reflects his “new sense of calibration” for his eponymous label. The latest outlook for the designer developed into a range of silhouettes, ranging from oversized to form-fitting and a new observation of sustainability.
“Sustainability has turned into a trend. It can feel fake and today, ‘sustaining’ is no longer enough, a more honest term would be ‘less environmentally destructive.’ I believe and have always believed that taking responsibility for actions which affect our world, should genuinely matter,” said Heron Preston.
In a study of proportions, the designer looked to break down the concepts of workplace attire with pieces like a sky-blue suit and its trousers defined by a generous break. While texture and shape is explored through padding, transparent and double-layered organza styles. Continued by puffer-esque tops, flak vests and floor-length, body-hugging frocks. New accessories include updates to Heron Preston’s signature Level heels and the introduction of a new outsized tote bag.
Aside from the label’s signature orange highlights, detailing this season comes in the form of references to biking, usage of camouflage and body forms.
