DJ Khaled is a prolific sneakerhead and collector, known for owning some of the most coveted pairs in the world, and now the rapper and producer has added a new, very rare pair to his ever-growing collection — the Louis Vuitton x Nike Air Force 1 in red.

Designed by Virgil Abloh — whose posthumous Fall/Winter 2022 LV men’s runway show debuted only yesterday — the LV AF1 collaboration was originally seen during the SS22 “Amen Break” show, and has since gone on to become one of the most talked-about sneakers this decade.

Ahead of the Sotheby’s release of an exclusive classic colorway, DJ Khaled has now gotten his hands on an incredibly rare early pair in red. This colorway comes as part of the 47 styles shown on the runway, which are set to be showcased in an exhibition and will be commercially available sometime later this year. For now, DJ Khaled might be one of the only people to have this shoe, which is one of the boldest iterations made by Abloh.

Its leather upper is decked entirely in red before being covered in the LV monogram and contrasted with a white leather monogrammed Swoosh. A green tag hangs from the Swoosh, while branding on the tongue is skewed in Abloh’s usual manner. Another important note is that these didn’t come in a special box, rather an embossed cardboard shoe box that unfolded to reveal the shoes in their dustbags.

Take a look at DJ Khaled revealing the shoes above, and stay tuned to HYPEBEAST for more information about the collaboration’s expected wider release.

In other news, Kassl Editions has reworked the ASICS GEL-1090.
