Closer Look at Dior's Upcoming Birkenstock Collaboration

A plethora of your favorite luxury brands have flocked to Paris Fashion Week to flaunt their Fall/Winter 2022 collections, and one of the standouts was Dior’s schoolboy-inspired Winter 2022 assemblage. Footwear was a big time component of Kim Jones‘ latest runway initiative as the French luxury house previewed its forthcoming collaboration with Birkenstock.

Jones and his design team essentially took Birkenstock’s classic Boston Clog and upgraded it with new detail details and functional elements. The presentation featured several different colorways, some of which are treated with suede uppers while others are done up with a felt-like material that is accessorized with floral appliques. The kicks are supported by Dior-branded roller coaster buckles across the bridge of the foot and studded straps on the rear end. Further branding is also present atop the footbeds and the treading. The former sees a bold “DIOR” spell out printed on the heels while the latter is executed with Birkentock’s classic treading from the mid-foot to the heels and Dior‘s signature monogram pattern across the front. Five makeups including a beige, muted beige, gray, gray with floral and dark brown have been previewed thus far.

Be on the lookout for these to drop in the latter half of 2022. Retail prices and official launch dates have yet to be confirmed.
