While James Harden has come a long way and continues to set the bar as one of the greatest shooters in the NBA, the Brooklyn Nets guard did not get to where he is today without a few trial and errors.

With many accolades and achievements throughout his career, Harden can now add one more to his list, but it might not be what The Beard wants to be known for. This past weekend, Harden broke the record for the most three-pointers missed by a single player in the history of the NBA. Harden has currently missed 4,457 threes, which makes it one more than Ray Allen who held the most recent record with 4,456. Coming in third place is Jamal Crawford at 4,158 misses beyond the arc. In this weekend’s game against the New Orleans Pelicans, Harden went 2/5 in threes.

It is important to note that this accolade would not be possible if Harden was not making as many attempt threes as he should. A high-volume shooter as a whole, it is evident that Harden takes even more chances beyond the arc. While he may have missed many shots beyond the arc, Harden is considered one of the top players in three-pointers, joining Steph Curry, Reggie Miller and Ray Allen in the top five.
