Nike Salutes the Upcoming Winter Solstice With This Vivid Dunk Low Colorway
The kicks come prepared with all-over embroidered sun rays and 2021’s winter solstice date on the insoles and tongues.

You can leave it to Nike to find any excuse to commemorate a special day, moment or culture with celebratory footwear offerings. Hot off the heels of revealing a technicolor Air Max 90 “LHM” to honor Latinx Heritage Month, the brand is now gearing up to deliver this vividly-styled Nike Dunk Low colorway that pays homage to the upcoming winter solstice.
This impending installment doesn’t hold back on the louder colors here in an effort to best portray the natural phenomenon that draws inspiration from. Throughout the base layer, multiple shades of orange and red topple over the leather underlays and hairy suede overlays. Tongues have been slightly adjusted and now appear with pink pleats, and embroidered sun rays make their presence felt atop the overlays and quarter panels. In 2021, the winter solstice will take place on December 21 so this date is located on the right foot’s tongue and the left shoe’s insoles in “21.12.21” form. Traditional Nike branding still shows up on the right insole and left tongue banner.
No release info is known at this time, but it’s likely that Nike could be dropping these in the coming months for the usual $100 USD.
In case you missed it, detailed shots of the Patta x Nike Air Max 1 “Monarch” have emerged.
