Extra Butter and adidas Announce a Dog-Inspired Equipment CSG 91 "Best Friend" Collaboration

2021 marks the 30th anniversary of adidas‘ iconic EQT footwear line, and so to honor this, the brand has collided with multiple retailers and brands to release specially-made footwear offerings. Retailers like Footpatrol and Livestock have already had their say on the adidas EQT Running Support ‘93, and now it’s time for Extra Butter to launch its dog-inspired Equipment CSG 91 “Best Friend” and accessories collection.

“The relationship between human and canine is a tale almost as long as recorded history itself. And very much a New York City story. From posting up on the front stoop to strolls in Central Park.” says Bernie Gross, the creative lead for Extra Butter. “Just hanging out in front of our Long Island City location, you can see every young adult with a dog. They’ve become almost an accessory, becoming an extension of your personality, sensibilities and even style. But most importantly it’s the unconditional love they give and how grounded they can keep you that make the companionship so valuable.”

Visually, the kicks are fashioned with a collection of earthy light browns, tans, beige and pink throughout the upper which make them extremely easy to pair with any fit. Hairy suedes and faux pony hair are applied to the base layer, the former of which is found on the overlays while the latter sees its way to the collars. Lace jewels and the soft cell windows are adorned with bone and paw graphics to echo its “man’s best friend” motif. Dropping alongside the kicks will be an assortment of tees, long sleeves, sweatshirts, collars, and leashes. Consumers who cop a pair will also receive a complimentary dog treat.
