Brad Pitt and George Clooney To Reunite for New Thriller Film
Setting off one of the biggest Hollywood bidding wars of the year.
Brad Pitt and George Clooney are set to star in Spider-Man: Homecoming director Jon Watts’ newest thriller movie. The two A-listers will also be producing the film with their respective production labels, Plan B Entertainment and Smokehouse Pictures.
The announcement of the film has sent streamers in one of the biggest Hollywood bidding wars this year. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Studios including Sony, Lionsgate, Apple and Netflix are all vying for the trifecta package that sees George Clooney, Brad Pitt and Jon Watts working together. Amazon, Universal, MGM, Warner Bros. and Annapurna are also thrown into the bidding mix.
Watts is also writing, directing and producing the thriller film alongside the duo. Though not much detail has been revealed, the movie packages are expected to be hefty. Clooney and Pitt could both land major paydays upwards of $20 million USD or higher. The deal for this film might also see Watts receive a career-high payout and creative freedom to direct the film. If the film is anything like the notable success he achieved with Marvel’s thrid Spider-Man film, audiences are sure to be in for a treat with the Pitt-Clooney led thriller.
