Universal Works’ FW21 Collection Is a Lesson in Fabrics
Garment-dyed wovens, sturdy sweats, printed camo, hardy Harris Tweeds, super-soft Japanese brushed wools.

For Universal Works, fabric comes first. Whether it draws inspiration from traditional garments, classic military wear or Ivy League classics, the brand’s penchant for engineering harmony through the materials it uses has seen it become a staple in British menswear.
After taking notes from reggae sound system styles for Spring/Summer 2021, this season the Nottingham-based label showcases its latest capsule comprising reworked classics crafted from garment-dyed wovens, sturdy sweats, printed camo, hardy Harris Tweeds, super-soft Japanese brushed wools and laid-back herringbone denims, all of which boast the brand’s typical subtle-but-classy detailing.
Designed for everyday wear, the fabrics chosen for Fall/Winter 2021 have been chosen to age well and be easy to care for. The silhouettes stay true to the tried and tested framework its following has come to expect, blending seamlessly from season-to-season.
