Nike Air VaporMax 2021 “Wolf Grey/Volt” Sneaks Retro Air Max Logos Onto Its Swoosh
The modern-day silhouette nods to some of its famous predecessors.

Nearly half a decade into its time on the market, Nike‘s VaporMax line is still pushing the boundaries of what a casual Air Max silhouette can be and do. However, on the Air VaporMax 2021‘s new “Wolf Grey/Volt” colorway it’s taking a look back too thanks to special Swoosh details.
This unique Swoosh is placed smack-dab in the middle of the upper’s “Wolf Grey” Flyknit expanses and appears on both the lateral and medial sides. Each side shows a different assemblage of Air Max logos, ranging from the Air Max 95‘s recognizable oval and OG Nike Sportswear hits to the Air Max2 Light‘s circular graphic and the sharp-edged Air spellouts used in the ’00s. It’s trimmed by thick “Volt” thread as well.
Apart from the special Swoosh, the rest of this VaporMax’s details are supplied by its uniquely stripped-back lacing system, firm TPU heel clip and black pull tabs. Down below, a fully translucent VaporMax cushioning unit is reinforced with rubber in high-wear areas for increased durability. There’s also a sustainable aspect at play, namely that each pair is made of at least 40 percent recycled content by weight — indicated by the flecked rubber on the outsoles and bright volt insoles alike.
The Nike Air VaporMax 2021 “Wolf Grey/Volt” is available via the Nike webstore now, and retails for $200 USD.
